I moved to Portland, Oregon in November 2015, so yea, I think it's pretty cool. What's not to like? We've got breweries galore, kitsch doughnut shops, food pods all over the city. We've got Mt. Hood, Mount St. Helens, Mt Rainier, Mt Adams and more. We've got the Oregon coast. The high desert isn't that far away either. So when I'm asked why I moved here, it's difficult to wrap that up in one quick sentence.
This is why I agree with The New York Times article "52 Places to Go in 2017". They give some suggestions on which hotels to book and few food spots to check out. I've added on to their list in another blog post, it's my personal guide that I give to friends, family and anyone else who asks me when planning to come to Portland.
But first I'd like to introduce you to our new Portland bracelet. This is pretty exciting for us as not only is this my new hometown, it's also the first time we haven't worked with metal at Designhype. When I moved out to the west coast last year I noticed a big difference in fashion, it's a bit more casual up here in the Pacific Northwest. We've also been searching for USA companies to work with and the timing was perfect. We found a great company in California who could make our bracelets out of leather. It is a beautiful material, ages really nicely and darkens and softens with handling.
